When I began training with Bronek I already had 15 years of gym work under my belt. My own training had taken me to 98kg, a 39inch waist and legs like sticks. I was pretty strong – I used to bench press 190kg unequipped and could do a set of one-arm chin-ups. And yet I could hardly make it up four flights of stairs without stopping for breath.
I found training with Bronek really hard to begin with and used to curse the weird and wonderful exercises he prescribed for me. However, when I got them right, they generated unbelievably good results. Within four months my bodyweight had dropped to 80kg, my waist shrank to 32in, and I was astounded to find that I was so much stronger than when I’d been almost 20kg heavier. Now I can do a ten-minute intensive warm-up with a grin on my face and huffing and puffing during a brisk stroll is a thing of the past. I can definitely say that training according to the “Bronek principle” is well worth it!

Once you train with Bronek, you cannot go back (to your run-of-the-mill exercise routines).
Training with Bronek is hard, you’ll sweat a lot, you’ll grunt a lot. BUT it is absolutely rewarding, and FUN!
He not only trains you to make sure you have the correct and proper forms and movements (he is super strict with forms and movements), he also makes you feel confident about your ability and strength.

a) My weight went from 70kg down to 50kg
b) My marathon time went from 5h45min to 3h26min
c) I competed in Les Foulees de la Soie (a stage run in China in 2001), the Marathon des Sables (known as the toughest foot race in the world) in the Sahara in Morocco, the Ice Marathon in Omsk, Russia, in 2003, and various other marathons and stage runs in Europe.

I was referred to Bronek three years ago by my physio who’d told me that many of the running injuries I was suffering from were due to my joints not being able to carry the excess weight I’d put on. Bronek totally revolutionised my gym sessions and the results were incredible.

I guess the above says a lot. I started training with Bronek because I wanted to see my children grow up.
His continuous support, encouragement, advice and friendliness helped a great deal. I admit that at times in the gym it was difficult not to hate him – but the bottom line is that he makes the pain worthwhile and knows exactly what he’s doing. Bronek always comes up with different exercises to keep it interesting – and best of all he doesn’t like the cardio machines! He has the ability to push you to your limits but also knows when to back off. In short, I’d recommend Bronek to anyone who wants to change themselves for the better.

Before joining the challenge and Bronek’s weight loss programme I had some doubt on the possible result. I did a lot of dieting for the past 2 years and none of them really worked.
However, already after the 1st week of training, I was impress!
With Bronek’s advice and exercises I managed to lose 9.5 kg (nearly 1.5 stone) during 8 short weeks, which was above my expectation.

Bronek’s fitness programme was undoubtedly the most demanding I had ever attended in London. It was also the most encouraging and personal. I used to prefer training in the evening, leisurely but purposefully. I ended up coming for the 7 am sessions every session and asking for more!

The results flowed in: stronger back, higher stamina, more flexibility, happier moods…and yes I lost weight. Early exercise + controlled diet = success. Others talk about it, Bronek made it happen for me.

I never thought I could lose weight, but I did. I never thought I could get up at 6 am to do sport, and I did. Somehow the day always felt lighter and brighter after morning exercise. Does early morning exercise put a smile on your face? Well, it does to me now!

The sessions were great fun, diverse, effective. The group had both a competitive edge and a very encouraging environment. No one was allowed to lag behind: trying harder was the motto. The 1,000 burpees challenge? Yes, crazy, but we achieved it. Bring it on.

The first squat programme Bronek designed for me seemed totally unrealistic: each Monday I’d wonder how the hell I’d get through the next week’s plan and each Sunday, to my surprise, found I’d got through it.
Yes it was hard, but I added over 30kg on my squat in just three months, compared to 0kg in the previous year and just 20kg in the year before that.
The secret was to get the volume and intensity right. I also increased weights in other exercises, deadlifted 200kg (445lb), improved my technique and, although it was of secondary importance to me, lost fat and built more muscle.
I’m now completely convinced that almost anyone who trains correctly can achieve decent results in either weightlifting or bodybuilding. Still ‘correctly’ is the key here, so if you want to avoid losing years in trial and error or training with coaches who can hardly teach you to lift a broomstick, go with Bronek, the Polish IronMan.
